For shops
Setting up the till, products, stock, printing and the day close.
- Register your shopSign up with your shop name, type and address; a person at PoedApp approves it, and until they do you can set everything up but not sell.
- Install the till app on WindowsDownload the installer, run it, and sign in with the same details you use in the browser — the till app is what keeps selling when the internet does not.
- Add staff and set what they can doInvite each person with their own sign-in and give them a role — so you can see who sold what, and nobody has the owner's password.
- Add a second branchEach branch keeps its own stock, its own till and its own day close, while products, prices and reports stay shared across all of them.
- Add a product to your shopScan the barcode on the packet, set your price, and the product is ready to sell at the counter and online — about thirty seconds per item.
- The receipt printer is not printingNine times out of ten it is the paper roll in backwards, a loose USB cable, or the printer picked up as the wrong device — check those three before anything else.
- The barcode scanner is not readingThe scanner types like a keyboard, so if it beeps but nothing appears, the problem is where the cursor is — not the scanner.
- Close the day and count the cashCount what is in the drawer, enter it, and PoedApp tells you whether the till is over, short or exactly right — and by how much.
- Sell rice, dal and other loose goodsSet the product to sell by weight, and the counter takes the weight from the scale instead of asking for a quantity.
- Selling when the internet is downThe Windows till keeps selling without internet and sends everything up when the line comes back — you do not have to do anything.
- I cannot sign inReset your password from the sign-in screen; the code goes to the email or number on the account, and only that one.
- Keep track of customer credit (বাকি)Ring the sale up as credit against the customer and PoedApp keeps the running balance, so the khata is the till rather than a separate notebook.
- Ring up a saleScan or tap each item, choose how the customer is paying, and press Pay — the receipt prints and the stock comes down by itself.
- Take a return or give a refundFind the original sale, choose what is coming back, and PoedApp puts the stock back and records the money going out — never just open the drawer.
- Give a discount or run an offerA discount is given once at the counter; an offer is a rule that applies by itself to everyone who qualifies, online and at the till.
- Which payments you can acceptTick the methods your shop actually takes and only those appear at the counter — cash, Bangla QR, the mobile wallets, card, bank transfer or credit.
- Run a restaurant: tables and the kitchenOpen a table, add to its order through the meal, and each course goes to the kitchen screen as it is ordered — the bill is settled once at the end.
- Import your products from a spreadsheetDownload the template, fill in a row per product, and upload it — far faster than typing a thousand items, and it tells you which rows have problems before anything is saved.
- Do a stock countCount what is actually on the shelf, enter it, and PoedApp shows you the difference against what it expected — then corrects the records in one step.
- Record goods received from a supplierEnter the delivery against the supplier and the stock goes up, the cost is recorded, and what you owe them is tracked — all from the one bill.
- Know what to reorderSet a reorder level on the things you must never run out of, and the Stock screen tells you what is below it before a customer does.
- Print barcode and shelf labelsPrint a barcode for anything that does not have one, and a shelf label showing the price — the first makes the scanner work, the second stops price arguments.
- Record an expenseRent, electricity, staff wages, the van — enter them as they happen, because profit is sales minus cost minus these, and a shop that skips them only thinks it knows what it earns.
- Track what you owe suppliersEvery purchase taken on credit builds a balance against that supplier, and recording payments against it keeps both sides agreeing about the number.
- See whether you made a profitThe reports show sales, the cost of what you sold, and the difference — by day, by product and by category, so you can see which lines actually earn.
- Your plan and invoicesSee which plan you are on, when the free period ends, and pay any invoice online — the till keeps working even if a bill is late.
- Put your shop onlineTurn the online store on and choose which products to list — your stock is already in PoedApp, so there is no second catalogue to maintain.
- Handle an online orderAccept it, prepare it, and mark it handed over — the goods are reserved from the moment it arrives, and the sale is rung up when you accept.
- Delivery, pickup and cash on deliverySay whether customers collect, you deliver, or both — and set a delivery charge, a free-delivery threshold and a minimum order.
- Do I need to register for VAT?It depends on your yearly turnover: above the registration threshold you need a VAT registration and a BIN, below it you may only need turnover tax enlistment, and NBR sets both figures each year.
- What is a Mushak 6.3, and when must I give one?Mushak 6.3 is the VAT invoice — the challanpatra a VAT-registered business must issue for every taxable sale, with the VAT shown separately from the price.
- Filing your monthly VAT return (Mushak 9.1)A VAT-registered business files a Mushak 9.1 every month — by the 15th of the following month — even in a month when it sold nothing.
- Getting and renewing a trade licenceEvery shop needs a trade licence from its local authority — City Corporation, Pourashava or Union Parishad — and it is renewed every year, not once.
