Give a discount or run an offer
A discount is given once at the counter; an offer is a rule that applies by itself to everyone who qualifies, online and at the till.
A one-off discount
At the counter, press the discount on a line or on the whole sale, as an amount or a percentage. It is recorded against the sale and against the person who gave it, which is what makes the discount report worth reading.
An offer
- 1Open Offers and press Create an offer.
- 2Choose what it does — a percentage off, a fixed amount off, or buy-one-get-one.
- 3Choose what it applies to: everything, a category, or named products.
- 4Set the dates it runs between, and a usage limit if you want one.
Check the discount report at the end of a month that felt busy but did not make money. Discounts given one at a time rarely feel large and frequently are.
