Print barcode and shelf labels
Print a barcode for anything that does not have one, and a shelf label showing the price — the first makes the scanner work, the second stops price arguments.
- 1Open Products and select the items you want labels for.
- 2Press Print labels and choose the label size your printer takes.
- 3Choose what goes on it — barcode, name, price, or all three.
- 4Print, and stick the barcode somewhere the scanner can reach without turning the packet over.
Never cover the manufacturer's own barcode with yours. Their barcode is what connects the product to the national catalogue, which is what lets a shopper scan it and check it is genuine — cover it and you have made your own product unverifiable.
